Cap Salou is a quiet residential area located between the towns of Salou and La Pineda. The winding streets climb the steep topography amid dense groves of pine trees. The vertical rocky coastline is interrupted occasionally to reveal small sandy beaches which are almost hidden from the rest of the world. Our property is located on a dead end street (Calle Pas de la Mala Dona) a few hundred meters from one of such coves, Cala Crancs. Although having a car will be very convenient for getting around and for visiting the nearby towns, it is by no means indispensable. In fact, Cap Salou has everything you need to spend a relaxing holiday. There is a small supermarket and bar only 300 metres from the house, to get there make a right at the top of Pas de la Mala Dona. If you turn left at the top of Pas de la Mala Dona, a slightly longer walk (600 metres) will get you to a few more shops and restaurants, including a nice Italian restaurant (La Piazza), a decent supermarket (Michelangelo), and a chemist. The Coastal Path which runs right past our property will allow you to walk from the lighthouse all the way to Salou town centre following a scenic route that joins most of the beaches. Both Salou and La Pineda are within walking distance, their town centres being approximately 30 minutes away on foot. However, you can also get the bus... The nearest bus stop is 800 metres from the house, the Bus Plana company run frequent buses between Tarragona and Cambrils. Just make sure you're standing on the right side of the road depending on whether you want to go East (La Pineda and Tarragona) or West (Salou and Cambrils), refer to the map above for further info. There is a taxi rank located approximately 900 metres away, next to the Carrefour Express supermarket. There are two public parks near the house: one of them contains a few swings for children, the other one is the newly opened Cala Morisca Park, a small botanic garden offering spectacular views of the coastline. There is a waste container a the top of Pas de la Mala Dona, please use it to dump any rubbish you generate during your stay.
